Mr Chitnavis performed a discectomy L5/S1R operation on me in May 2018. After years of suffering and trying all sorts of treatments (daily physio & injections; of which some worked for a few months and some didn’t), I ended up unable to walk and needed this operation fairly quickly. I am now 9 months pro-surgery and I have to say it has been life changing. It has taken a while to recover, I have needed to take things slowly (I am generally not a slow person!), but things were very bleak for me before the op and I am so grateful to Mr Chitnavis for the simple tasks I can now perform (like walking my kids to school and getting myself to work!). I still have to keep up with physio stretches and keep up with exercise but I can live with that. Thank you Mr Chitnavis :)). If anyone is in any doubt then I would highly recommend him. I was extremely scared about having surgery and now in hindsight, I wish I hadn’t suffered for so long.

I was under the care of Mr Chitnavis in December 2017. Mr Chitnavis made me feel at ease from the very first meeting, thoroughly explaining everything clearly, without rushing at any point. Every conversation was dictated into a letter, which my wife and I found very useful. His expertise was clear and I felt extremely safe in his hands. Mr Chitnavis is a very kind and considered man who really does care about his work and patients. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Mr Chitnavis was the consultant and surgeon for my recent (lumbar decompression) operation. He was excellent from start to finish and I recommend him highly. He is very thorough, considerate and skilful. My symptoms were quite severe sciatic pains, which made walking very difficult and painful. Mr Chitnavis diagnosed this as being due to spinal stenosis and this was confirmed by an MRI scan. Mr Chitnavis listened very carefully to the symptoms that I described, was really good at answering any questions that I asked, and was very thorough during the whole process. I never felt that I was being steered into having surgery. He gave me sufficient information, clearly and straightforwardly, about the pros and cons of surgery and about other possibilities, so I felt I knew about both the possible benefits and the risks of surgery. He also involved my wife in the various discussions we had about how the condition had progressed and we appreciated that a great deal. I decided to go for surgery, which was performed by Mr Chitnavis. The outcome was terrific. A few hours after the operation I could walk normally without pain and since then I have made a full and speedy recovery. Both before and after surgery, Mr Chitnavis was very attentive and caring in his approach. Mr Chitnavis is a very compassionate and considerate person. I felt safe under his care, and thoroughly recommend him.

From the moment my wife and I met with Dr Chitnavis we knew we were in good hands. I have suffered from Sciatic pain for over 10 years and despite facet-joint injections and physio it was time to consider surgery; something I was increasingly concerned about. Dr Chitnavis did not tell me or try to persuade me what to do but provided me with options and facts. By being totally honest with me, and also ensuring my wife was part of the consultation, did I feel confident in going ahead with surgery. Dr Chitnavis explained everything in very plain and simple terms and ensuredthat the risks and the benefits were understood. He was totally emphatic and understanding when emotion got the better of me and took this totally in his stride. The operation itself was a great success and the after-care was exceptional. I consider myself pain-free and I owe this to Dr Chitnavis. A true professional throughout.

I had been suffering for 7 months before my consultation with Dr Chitnavis. He have me a range of options and asked me to consider the advice re each of them. He listened, was personable and informative. When I went with the surgical option, he met my wife to ensure we both understood the recuperation necessary to make the procedure a success. He saw me in the morning of the operation wen through any last minutes queries, then waited for me post operation to talk through how it went. Again he came to see the the next few days and I found that care a necessessary piece of my recovery. He was spot on with his diagnosis, prognosis and recovery plan. An absolute gentleman and I feel lucky to have had him as my Consultant
